Bogra sits in Bangladesh’s Ganges-Brahmaputra delta, one of the most flood-prone regions on Earth, where the summer monsoon from June through October combines with the rivers’ own seasonal rise to produce widespread flooding most years.
Near the Jamuna River (the Bangladeshi name for the Brahmaputra), the city monitors one of the country’s largest and most flood-prone rivers.
