Live Rain Radar for Mostar, Herzegovina-Neretva Canton

← Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Mostar, in the Herzegovina region along the Neretva river, has a more Mediterranean-influenced climate than Sarajevo further north, receiving around 1,500 mm (about 59 inches) of rain a year concentrated mainly in autumn and winter with a hot, dry summer. The Neretva, known for its striking turquoise color, has a history of flooding during periods of intense autumn and winter rain across its mountainous watershed, a well-recognized seasonal risk for the historic riverside city. Because the region’s wet season storms can be intense after months of dry summer weather, radar tracking during the seasonal transition is genuinely useful. Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Hydrometeorological Institute operates the national radar network.
