Live Rain Radar for Bitola, Pelagonia

← Pelagonia, North Macedonia

Bitola, in southern North Macedonia’s Pelagonia plain, receives around 600 mm (about 24 inches) of rain a year, with a summer peak from convective storms intensified somewhat by the surrounding mountains that ring the wide agricultural valley. Hail is a recognized risk for the region’s farmland during the most intense summer cells, a significant concern given how much of the local economy depends on agriculture. Because the surrounding mountains create noticeable local variation in exactly where storms build and move, radar gives a clearer real-time picture than a broad regional forecast. North Macedonia’s Hydrometeorological Service operates the national radar network.
