Live Rain Radar for Esch-sur-Alzette, Esch-sur-Alzette Canton

← Esch-sur-Alzette Canton, Luxembourg

Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg’s second-largest town in the industrial south of the country, receives around 800 mm (about 31 inches) of rain a year, similar to the capital, with a fairly even seasonal spread. The Alzette river, which also runs through Luxembourg City further downstream, has a generally moderate flow near the town, meaning fast-developing local summer storms represent the more immediate weather hazard rather than large-scale flooding. Because the town’s former mining and industrial terrain can affect local drainage patterns, radar tracking helps residents anticipate exactly when heavier rain bands will pass through. MeteoLux operates the national weather radar network.
