Live Rain Radar for Dublin, Leinster

← Leinster, Ireland

Dublin, on Ireland’s east coast, receives around 750 mm (about 30 inches) of rain a year, actually somewhat less than Ireland’s wetter west coast since the city sits in a partial rain shadow from the country’s central highlands. Rain falls frequently throughout the year with no true dry season, typically as the light-to-moderate showers Ireland is famous for rather than dramatic downpours, though autumn storms moving in off the Atlantic can occasionally bring more intense, damaging rain and wind. Because Dublin’s weather can shift from sunshine to showers within the same hour on a fairly routine basis, radar is used here as a genuinely everyday practical tool rather than something reserved for severe weather. Met Éireann operates Ireland’s national weather radar network.
