Tiruppur sits on the Noyyal River in western Tamil Nadu, close enough to the Western Ghats to receive somewhat more southwest monsoon rainfall than the drier eastern plains, in addition to the region’s northeast monsoon season. IMD’s national radar network covers this western Tamil Nadu district.
