Live Rain Radar for Odense, Southern Denmark Region

← Southern Denmark Region, Denmark

Odense, on the Danish island of Funen, receives around 580 mm (about 23 inches) of rain a year, similar to the rest of Denmark, with routine rain spread fairly evenly across the seasons punctuated by occasional intense summer cloudbursts. The Odense river running through the city center has generally modest flow, meaning the city’s main weather-related risk, much like the rest of Denmark, comes from short, extremely heavy downpours overwhelming urban drainage rather than large-scale river flooding. Because these sudden summer storms are the defining local hazard, radar tracking gives residents a genuinely useful early view of an approaching cell. DMI operates the national radar network.
