Live Rain Radar for Aalborg, North Denmark Region

← North Denmark Region, Denmark

Aalborg, in northern Jutland, receives around 650 mm (about 26 inches) of rain a year, slightly more than southern Denmark, reflecting its more exposed northern coastal position. Rain falls fairly evenly through the year, with the Limfjord waterway running through the city adding a coastal dimension to how quickly water can rise during storm surge events combined with heavy rain. Summer cloudbursts, similar to those affecting Copenhagen and Aarhus, remain the primary sudden-flooding risk for the city’s urban drainage. Because northern Denmark sees slightly more variable weather given its coastal exposure, radar tracking is a genuinely useful everyday tool. DMI operates the national weather radar network.
