Weather Data Disclaimer
RainyMap must not be used as your sole source of information for decisions affecting safety, life or property.
This is the most important section of this page, so it comes first. RainyMap is an independent website. We are not a national meteorological service, an emergency management agency, or an official warning authority. The maps and forecasts here are provided for general information and interest.
- Radar, satellite, lightning, temperature and air quality data are supplied by third parties and may contain gaps, delays or errors. Radar coverage in particular varies with distance from the nearest station and with terrain.
- Forecasts are model output. They describe probability, not certainty, and accuracy falls with distance into the future.
- Live data can be delayed or temporarily unavailable for reasons outside our control.
For severe weather, flooding, storms or any situation where safety is at stake, always follow your official national weather service and local emergency authorities. Their warnings take precedence over anything shown on this site.
Use of the Site
You may use RainyMap freely for personal and non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:
- interfere with, disrupt or place unreasonable load on the site or its infrastructure;
- use automated systems to scrape or harvest content at a scale that affects other users;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site or its servers;
- reproduce substantial portions of our written content without permission or attribution.
Intellectual Property
Articles, guides, charts and graphics created by RainyMap remain our property. You may quote briefly with clear attribution and a link. Weather data, map tiles and imagery belong to their respective providers — including RainViewer, Windy, Blitzortung, the World Air Quality Index Project, Open-Meteo, OpenStreetMap and CARTO — and are used subject to their terms. Photographs are credited to their photographers where used.
Third-Party Links and Services
The site embeds third-party map services and links to external websites. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content, availability or practices. Their use is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
Advertising
RainyMap is free and funded by advertising. Advertisements are served by third parties and their presence does not imply endorsement by us. How advertising cookies work is explained in our Privacy Policy.
Availability
We aim to keep RainyMap available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The site may be unavailable during maintenance, or because of failures at a hosting provider or upstream data source. Features may change or be withdrawn.
Limitation of Liability
RainyMap is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any loss or damage arising from use of, or reliance on, this site or the data presented on it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Changes
We may revise these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows the most recent revision, and continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Latvia, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
