Live Rain Radar for Glasgow, Scotland

← Scotland, United Kingdom

Glasgow sits on Scotland’s west coast and is considerably wetter than most of England, averaging around 1,100 mm (about 43 inches) of rain a year thanks to its direct exposure to Atlantic weather systems rolling in off the ocean. Rain here tends to be frequent and often accompanied by strong wind, particularly during the autumn and winter storm season when named Atlantic storms regularly affect the west of Scotland. Because Glasgow can see rapid shifts from a dry spell to a band of driving rain within an hour, radar tracking is a genuinely practical everyday tool rather than something reserved for severe weather. The Met Office operates the national radar network covering western Scotland.
