Live Rain Radar for Burgos, Castile and Leon

← Castile and Leon, Spain

Burgos sits in Spain’s dry continental interior, where hot summers and cold winters produce a semi-arid climate with modest annual rainfall concentrated in short, sometimes intense spring and autumn storms.

On the Arlanzon River in northern Castile and Leon, the city’s higher elevation gives it a somewhat cooler, wetter climate than the rest of the plateau. Because the region normally receives little rain, its rivers and drainage systems can be quickly overwhelmed when a storm does arrive, making radar tracking of individual storm cells especially useful for anticipating flash flooding.
