Live Rain Radar for Ahmedabad, Gujarat

← Gujarat, India

Ahmedabad sits on the banks of the Sabarmati River in a semi-arid part of Gujarat, where nearly all of the roughly 800 mm of annual rainfall arrives in a compressed window between mid-June and September. Because the dry season is so long, the first heavy monsoon spells often move faster than the ground and drainage system can absorb, leading to street flooding in older, densely built parts of the city even when the day’s total rainfall isn’t extreme by tropical standards.
