Live Rain Radar for Limassol, Limassol District

← Limassol District, Cyprus

Limassol, Cyprus’s main coastal city and busiest port, receives around 400 mm (about 16 inches) of rain a year, concentrated in winter with a long, dry, tourist-season summer. Occasional intense winter storms moving in off the Mediterranean can bring heavy short-term rainfall and coastal flooding risk to the low-lying waterfront areas that host much of the city’s tourism and shipping activity. As a major maritime hub, sudden weather shifts here carry real operational significance for port traffic. Because the dry season is so pronounced, the first heavy winter rains tend to be disproportionately disruptive. Cyprus’s Department of Meteorology operates the national radar network.
