Live Rain Radar for Bender, Transnistria

← Transnistria, Moldova

Bender, on the Dniester river close to Tiraspol in Moldova’s Transnistria region, receives around 550 mm (about 22 inches) of rain a year, with a summer peak from convective storms typical of the wider region. The river’s generally moderate flow near the city means fast-developing local summer thunderstorms represent the more immediate weather hazard rather than large-scale flooding, similar to the pattern seen in nearby Tiraspol. Because these storms can build quickly on an otherwise calm summer day, radar tracking remains a genuinely practical tool for residents. Moldova’s State Hydrometeorological Service operates the national radar network.
