Live Rain Radar for Toluca, State of Mexico

← State of Mexico, Mexico

Toluca sits on Mexico’s central highland plateau, where a temperate climate produces a distinct rainy season from roughly June through September, driven by seasonal shifts in atmospheric moisture rather than direct hurricane landfall.

At high elevation west of Mexico City, the city’s cooler climate still produces intense summer storms that can overwhelm local drainage. Because the surrounding valleys and basins were not originally designed to drain the runoff from today’s large urban populations, intense summer storms can cause serious street and river flooding even far from the coast, which is why Mexico’s Servicio Meteorologico Nacional radar network is used extensively in this densely populated part of the country.
